UPDATED: Boeing loses 16 more 787 orders

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday night that Dubai-based LCAL, a leasing company, has canceled 16 of the 21 Dreamliners that it has on order.

The latest cancellation comes just a week after the Russian airline S7 canceled an order for 15 Dreamliners, though it may yet lease the planes rather than buy them directly from Boeing.

Airbus: No talks with Ryanair

NTSB: US Airways jet engines operating normally

Southwest to cut its 737 growth

NTSB - Engine shows bird-strike damage

Airbus says A350 will be delivered on time

Airbus broke ground in Toulouse Wednesday for its new A350 plant, and used the occasion to say the 787/777 competitor will be delivered as promised in 2013.

Of course, Boeing was sure the 787 would be delivered on time in 2004 -- four years before the May 2008 delivery date.

FedEx to buy 15 more 777 freighters

UPDATED: Boeing orders, deliveries fall sharply

Boeing on Thursday announced its final order and delivery numbers for 2008. As expected, both were down significantly from 2007, when Boeing won a record 1,423 gross orders or 1,413 net, and delivered 441 jets.

Boom problem on Japanese 767 tanker
